Ni hao and welcome from the Dim Sum Debutante. I am a thirty-something stay-at-home mama to one, living in the lovely borough of New York City that is Queens. I’m a former elementary teacher who has currently put educating other people’s kids on hold in order to teach my own little one all about shapes and colors and feelings and not dropping the phone in the toilet or licking the window on the subway.

I was born, raised, and educated in the heart of Tennessee. I spread my wings in the Bay Area of California. It is there that I met my amazing and sometimes annoying Chinese-American husband as he, too, sought out something different from his first 26 years in New York City. We got married and pregnant and somehow he managed to convince me to haul my big ol’ baby belly to Queens to give birth and raise our daughters only ten teensy weensy minutes away from her very generous, very opinionated, and very Chinese  grandparents.
