Strawberry Fields Forever

by dimsumdebutante on June 13, 2012

We may live in New York City, but we are lucky enough to have some amazing agriculture just a short car ride away. With a kid who will hardly eat anything that isn’t made from refined flour and drowning in butter, getting her out to the farms and enjoying fresh produce is exceptionally rewarding!

We’ve gone apple picking in the fall two years in a row.

Last year we picked blueberries and raspberries in July.

Patty's- July 2011

Last weekend we tried our first go at strawberry picking, a favorite fruit of everyone in our family. We returned to our favorite place, Patty’s Berries and Bunches in Mattituck. I’ll admit it was a bit more work than this preggo was looking to do, but the fruits of our labor were totally worth it!

Special thanks to Stefanie for sharing her fabulous photos!!

I love the sassy pants picture! Where did you get the mini Ergo? Going berry and apple picking has become one of our favorite traditions too.
